Booker's ART LESSONS (for kids)
Welcome
to the Left side of your brain....Time to tap into your creativity! Art Lessons
will be conducted by artist Holt McLean with Holt School of Fine Art. Holt is experienced
with teaching kids and adults the technique and confidence while exploring their
talents that many did not know they had! We are excited to have her partner with

Ages: 6-12 year olds
Times:
(Art lessons last for one hour; Free play lasts up to 30 minutes after each session)
Fridays from 4-5:30pm and 5:30-7pm
Wednesdays 4-5:30pm; and 5:30-7pm (Beginning in January, pending on interest)

Felix' FITNESS Jam (for kids)
Are
you ready to get moving?...And have fun?...All while learning about living a healthy
lifestyle?
We are the hip, new spot for kids that wanna stay active, have a blast and learn
something in the process. We are offering a kids fitness program that is held twice
a week for 8 weeks duration. The one hour session consists of 30 minutes of exercise,
10 minutes of an education lesson and 20 minutes of free play, all instructed by
a Certified Personal Trainer. Come join us and Get Active!
Lessons include the following:
Week 1: Intro to class (Daily food and activity journals, class structure)
Week 2: Move and Groove (Importance of cardiovascular training for kids)
Week 3: Eat to Win (Power of proper nutrition)
Week 4: The Low-down on Liquids (What counts as a healthy liquid)
Week 5: Snack Attack (Making healthy snack choices)
Week 6: Toughen Up (Why do we have to do pushups in PE?)
Week 7: Cut it OUT! (Good fats/bad fats)
Week 8: Walk This Way (How to maintain good habits forever)
Ages: 6-12 year olds
Times: (Fitness Jam Sessions last for one hour)
Tues/Thurs from 3:30-4:30pm and 4:30-5:30pm (Other times will be available in 2012)

Half Hour Blasters (for adults)

Join Kristi Kruft, Jay Thompson and Beth Klipa at Baxters Bunch Playhouse for HALF
HOUR BLASTERS that will give you exactly what you need to ward off those
extra holiday pounds. A combination of circuits, TRX, weights, cardio, inflatables,
medicine balls, and more, are catered to CRANK your heart rate efficiently
and effectively. By giving your personal best to every set, each session is designed
to give you improvements in fitness equivalent to over 60 minutes of exercise! Each
session utilizes a phenomenon known as HITT.
HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING is a variant of exercising that
is the quickest way to burn fat and gain muscle simultaneously. HIIT optimizes your
workout time by utilizing a series of short, high-intensity intervals, followed
up by longer, low-intensity intervals. The reason HIIT is so successful is that
HIIT’s repeated intervals constantly keeps your body guessing and is never given
a chance to “plateau”. The best part of HIIT is that it boosts your metabolism and
will continue to burn hundreds of calories even hours after you are done exercising.
